Army’s motorcycle rally flagged off in N Sikkim.

Indian Army’s motorcycle rally, Spirit of Adventure, has been flagged off today from Yongdi in North Sikkim, close to the Sino-Indian border. It would end in Amritsar, close to the Indo-Pak border on 15 December. Lt Gen Kamal Jit Singh, AVSM, GOC 33 Crops, flagged off the rally.
This venture marks commemoration of the Regiment’s Battle honour ‘BOGRA’ earned during the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
The bikers’ team comprising of one officer and seven others astride four motorcycles would be covering a distance of 2,795 km, the Army officials said.
The route for the rally has been selected to facilitate bikers to visit the borders of Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal and also pay obeisance at all the war memorials of the Regiment, including Alwar, the cantonment where the Regiment was raised in 1957.
