Kolkata 26 Oct: Dark clouds gripped the city again as incessant rain continued since last evening till late afternoon today. Heavy rain through the night and morning left a major part of the city water logged.
However, the meteorological regional centre has predicted dip in the intensity of rainfall in the next 24 hours. An official in the meteorological regional centre said: “Rain would continue in most parts of the city but the intensity would decrease.” He said two or three spells of rain and thunderstorm can be expected. The entire state had to bear the brunt of the persisting low pressure in Andhra Pradesh and adjoining areas from the turf of cyclonic circulation. Highest rainfall has been witnessed today in the city since last 10 days.
The MeT office recorded 157.3 mm rainfall in the city on an average today.
