Poor service on Rajdhani Express

Siliguri, 22 July: Due to poor maintenance and disinclination of attendant, a few passengers of Delhi-bound 12423-Rajdhani Express were in trouble when they boarded the Coach no B-4 from New Jalpaiguri railway station today.Seat no 13 and 14 of the Coach no B-4 were dirty and no railway staff, who were on duty for service on the train, came to clean the seats when the train left the NJP station. Someone had vomited on the seat and the remnants were spreading a terrible odour in the coach.The passenger, Mr Mukesh Mittal, a resident of Kalimpong, lodged a complaint (No. 24) with railway’s complaint book (No 74). After half an hour, a sweeper came to clean the seat but no other chemical was used to disinfect the seat. Mr Mittal’s sister, Ms Pranita Sharma and her co-passengers felt unhappy with the journey.

Interestingly, when the train arrived at Katihar railway station in Bihar, two railway officials reportedly forced Mr Mittal to withdraw the complaint when the sweeper cleaned the dirty seats.
